Forward Thinking LLC is a Men’s Transitional Living Facility located in Lincoln, NE. Forward Thinking supports Justice-Involved individuals with their transition from incarceration and/ or homelessness to permanent housing and self sufficiency. The Forward Thinking team provides a safe, sober, and supportive living environment for our clients, taking an evidence based and trauma informed approach. The Forward Thinking team addresses our clients criminogenic needs in a respectful, non-judgmental, and dignified way.
Licensure/other requirements: Valid Nebraska driver’s license; DMV record approval; Must have a reliable vehicle with valid registration and insurance.
Minimum Qualifications: High school diploma or GED, two years of education in related field, AND/OR two years of work experience in related field, to include: basic understanding of criminogenic needs, trauma informed care, and evidence based practices. Must be available to work during non-traditional hours. Minimum age, 21. Must pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check.
Physical Requirements: Must be able to: ascend/descend stairs while transporting up to 25 lbs.; position self by stooping, crouching and kneeling; stand, sit and walk for lengthy periods of time; move to/between different buildings and settings; position items up to 50 lbs. by pushing, pulling and or lifting; effectively use senses of smell, touch, speech, hearing and sight.
Job Summary: On-Site Staff are responsible for providing a safe, sober, and supportive living environment, supervising program activities, interacting with clients, and supporting their transition efforts. Current open positions may include weekends and/or holidays. **There is an additional .50 cent per hour shift differential and time and a half for holidays.
Designated shifts are: 6:45AM-3:00PM, 2:45PM-11:00PM, & 10:45PM-7:00AM.
Cannot currently be on supervision with Probation or Parole, no convictions, incarcerations, or any other supervision within the previous 6 months, no pending charges, must pass a background check, and cannot be related to or be acquainted with any current resident.
Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Foster and maintain a welcoming, safe, sober, and supportive environment for our clients.
2. Interact with clients in an empathic, non-judgmental, and trauma-informed manner at all times.
3. Project a professional demeanor, including maintaining professional boundaries.
4. Demonstrate knowledge, awareness and ability to implement agency policies and procedures.
5. Maintain client confidentiality at all times per policies and procedures.
6. Adhere to the agency’s organizational Code of Ethics.
7. Complete assigned intake tasks, as appropriate, and provide initial orientation to program and facility.
8. Facilitate clients skill building programs and activities.
9. Provide assistance for our clients with obtaining employment, permanent housing, and community resources.
10. Administer drug screen/alcohol use testing via breathalyzer and/or urinalysis, as per agency guidelines.
11. Supervise clients, redirecting and addressing behaviors that violate our program policies and/ or house rules.
12. Remain calm, respond appropriately to, and resolve all emergency/crisis situations in line with program policies and procedures, including notifying designated staff after stabilization of situation.
13. Complete all assigned in-person and online training in a timely manner and attend all staff meetings as scheduled.
14. Communicate any concerns you may have about a particular client to the House Manager or Program Director.
15. Document each client's activity, participation, progress, and rule violations each shift.
16. Communicate and complete all shift change duties per policies and procedures, with relief staff prior to shift change.
17. Participate in any other assigned duties to fulfill objectives set by the Board of Directors as deemed necessary by the House Manager or Program Director.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $19.00 - $20.00 per hour
Expected hours: 16 – 32 per week
Schedule: 8.25 hour shift
Education: High school or equivalent (Required)
